The International Thespian Society Inspirational Theatre Educator Award

Nominate your Troupe Director for the Educational Theatre Association’s Inspirational Theatre Educator Award.

The Inspirational Theatre Educator Award recognizes up to three individuals annually who have inspired their students and dedicated themselves to providing quality theatre education.

Only inducted Thespians or Junior Thespians may nominate an educator.

Nominees must be theatre arts educators who are professional members of the Educational Theatre Association. This includes troupe directors, affiliate professional members, and emeritus members. Only one nomination per person will be submitted to the judging committee. If multiple nominations for the same person are submitted, the Awards Administrator will only choose one of the nominations for the judges to review. Nomination forms may be completed by a group of Thespians, but the final draft must be submitted by the troupe president. Once an individual has been selected for this award, he or she cannot be considered for the award again until after a period of five years.

Each recipient of the Inspirational Theatre Educator Award receives:

  • complimentary dues for the next school year (either troupe dues or professional membership fee),
  • complimentary basic registration for the EdTA Annual Conference,
  • an award to be presented at the Conference,
  • a press release sent to the recipient’s local paper,
  • and complimentary one year membership in USITT.

Inspirational Theatre Educator Award nominees not selected receive a letter of thanks.

Nominations must be received by the February 1 deadline.
