The Leadership Grant, created by former EdTA president Joe Burnsworth, provides registration for one student to attend the International Thespian Festival (ITF). Joe Burnsworth feels that his leadership skills were the greatest attributes he cultivated through being part of the International Thespian Society. By sending a student to ITF, this grant will encourage students to further enhance their leadership skills and reward those who are already working on developing these strengths. Applicant must have previously participated in the leadership training program at the International Thespian Festival in order to qualify.
Each applicant MUST complete the following in Academic Works:
• The AcademicWorks General and Student Conditional Application (Including the necessary H.S. transcript and Troupe Director letters)
• This application and it’s supplemental questions.
Grant recipient will receive:
1) ITF registration fees will be paid for the student. Fees include a double room with another student in a residence hall on the UNL campus beginning with Monday night through Saturday night and meals in a campus cafeteria beginning with Monday dinner through Sunday breakfast.
2) Registration for the leadership-training program (held during the International Thespian Festival).
Note: Travel fees and all other expenses incurred during the trip must be paid for by the recipient.
If the troupe director of the recipient is not attending ITF, it will be the recipient’s responsibility to contact his/her chapter director to locate another adult who is willing to chaperone the student.
The Deadline for submission is February 1.
This grant is for an inducted Thespian of the International Thespian Society (ITS), the student honorary organization of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA).
